As a recovering alcoholic since 1995 and my experience(s)  to “hell and back”, it is incumbent upon me to
share with you, your essential role that you cannot afford to ignore.
Pay heed, it will help you in your journey towards recovery.

The Power of “You”

Whichever way you approach it, in the equation of recovery, “You” is unmistakably the single and all important constant for any meaningful result.

Recovery = acceptance + action + responsibility +  accountability

You are special
You and only You are responsible for your recovery
You have to be brutally honest with yourself
You have to accept accountability for your actions
You cannot blame others for your plight
You have to shed false pride and seek help
You should be willing to go to any lengths to recover
You have to be teachable
You have to be patient and willing to listen
You have to ACT
You have to “grow up”
You have to change your mindset
You have to do the next right thing
You have to make the correct choices
You should look forward to a better future
You and only You can change your lifestyle
You can regain control of your life
You can do it. Many have!

Attitude

Words have power.

Do not indulge in gossip and loose talk. It weakens you spiritually,
wrecks collateral damage, is counter productive to your recovery
and takes your eye off the ball.

Zap negative thoughts immediately. Do not feed them.

Shun negative person(s) like a plague.

Focus on the positive.

Ditch toxic relationships.

Count your blessings every day, as often as possible.

Positive attitude has magic in it.
It heals the mind, corrects ailing thoughts,  provides food for the spirit,
and makes all good things, including recovery possible.
